As a specialist in newborn photography, I create a space where time stops. Unlike lifestyle sessions in a busy home, my Southwest Portland studio offers a minimalist and peaceful environment. Here, we don’t rush. We follow your baby’s lead, using soft natural light to create images that are as pure and timeless as your newborn.

When to Schedule Your Session

The ideal time for those sleepy, tucked-in newborn portraits is between 5 and 15 days after birth. However, I believe every stage is beautiful - if your baby is older (3–8 weeks), we will capture more awake, soulful moments that parents often cherish just as much.

I recommend reaching out during your second or third trimester. We will use your due date as a placeholder and finalize the actual session date once your baby arrives. If your little one comes early or late, don’t worry - we will adjust accordingly.

You don’t need to spend hours shopping for the perfect outfit. My curated studio wardrobe is available for every session, featuring high-quality pieces in soft neutrals—creams, whites, and warm earth tones. These fabrics photograph beautifully and keep the focus exactly where it should be: on your baby and your connection.

Whether you choose from my collection or bring a sentimental piece of your own, I will guide you in creating a cohesive, timeless look for your family portraits.

We were so impressed with Irina and her work! As we got to the studio she greeted us and explained how the shoot will go and we started! My kiddos loved posing and taking pictures because she made it fun and kept them engaged. She had a whole wardrobe for mamas and Littles in studio to take pictures in. All very high end and quality clothing! Even a changing table and station for babies was so helpful!

For those sleepy, curled-up newborn portraits, I typically schedule sessions within the first 5 to 15 days after birth.

You’re always welcome to bring anything personal if you’d like.

However, to make your experience as easy as possible, I provide full access to a curated studio wardrobe for both mothers and babies. It features timeless, high-quality pieces designed to look beautiful in my studio’s natural light. Whether you choose your own favorite outfit or one of mine, I am here to help you look and feel your best.
Absolutely! While the focus is often on your new arrival, I believe capturing the connection between the whole family is just as important. Parents and siblings are always encouraged to participate. These family portraits are often the most cherished images, showing the love and joy of your first days together.
That’s completely normal.
We’ll simply adjust your session date once your baby is here — no stress.
I know how exciting it is to see your images! Your full, hand-edited gallery will be delivered via a private online link within 1 week. From there, you can easily download your high-resolution images or order professional-grade prints.

FAQs

It’s ideal to schedule the session within the first two weeks of the baby’s arrival. This is when newborns are sleepier and more flexible for posing. I can do newborns up to 5 weeks of age, even older. But to get the sleepy shots it is best sooner than later.
I do. I know how life is getting more expensive these days. So I can split your payments in 2, 3 or 4 instalments. As long as the full amount is received by the time we do the session.
A newborn session usually takes around 2-3 hours. When siblings are involved the process can take longer.
I recommend solid light colors and natural fabrics. It’s best to avoid bright white; however, off-white works great. I also have adorable dresses for moms, knits and wraps available for your newborn.
You can expect to receive your gallery approximately a week after the session. Yes, I deliver edited photos very quickly.
Yes, definitely. The session includes individual images of your baby, as well as photos with siblings, parents, and the entire family if desired. It can also be a baby-only session.
It’s completely normal for newborns to be fussy at times. If your baby needs a break or a feeding, we can pause the session to ensure their comfort. Patience is key, and I’ll work at your baby’s pace to capture beautiful moments.
Absolutely! I love outdoor newborn showers!
I get a little depressed when I think about a photo archive stored somewhere in the cloud or on a hard drive.
I offer high-quality print and products for your home. It is important to me that you have high-quality products for your high-quality images.
So please print your photos!
Life is complicated and the unexpected is to be expected. So I am very flexible. If you need to reschedule the session, please notify me as soon as possible, and we can work together to find a new suitable date. I don’t do refunds. But happy to reschedule.
